Private Celebration
Max’s 30th Birthday in Marrakech – A Four-Day Celebration of Soul, Culture & Desert Magic
When Max decided to mark his 30th birthday, he didn’t want just a party—he wanted an experience. Over four days in Marrakech, he brought together a close circle of friends for a celebration rooted in connection, discovery, and pure joy. From elegant dinners and artisan traditions to an epic desert rave under the rain, every moment was intentional and unforgettable.
The celebration began on April 10th, 2025, with an elegant dinner at RMAAT, a sleek contemporary space nestled in Marrakech’s modern quarter. Minimalist and art-driven, it offered the perfect contrast to what the rest of the weekend would bring.
Guests gathered around a single round-connected table, forming one continuous communal setting—a symbol of unity, conversation, and shared memories. Surrounded by curated lighting, floral details, and subtle soundscapes, Max welcomed his guests with a heartfelt toast, setting the tone for the next three days of wonder. The atmosphere was warm, refined, and deeply personal.
The following evening took guests into the heart of Marrakech’s old medina, to the stunning Palais Lamrani—an architectural jewel hidden behind wooden doors. This was a night dedicated to Moroccan craftsmanship and sensory immersion.
Tables were dressed with hand-hammered brass plates, candles flickered against intricate zellij tile, and textures of velvet, ceramics, and antique wood surrounded the group. Snake charmers, live Moroccan musicians, and the soft hum of traditional instruments filled the palace gardens. Friends wore flowing caftans and lounged beneath palms, celebrating in a timeless Moroccan scene.
It was a moment to pause, absorb, and honour the beauty of the land and its artisans.
Day 3 – April 12: Treasure Hunt, El Mida & A Desert Rave in the Rain
Day 3 brought adventure, rhythm, and a moment none of us could have predicted.
The morning kicked off with a treasure hunt through the Marrakech medina, as teams deciphered clues, connected with local artisans, and uncovered hidden corners of the old city. It was fast-paced, fun, and full of unexpected joy.
Afterward, the crew regrouped for a well-earned lunch at El Mida—a modern bistro blending traditional Moroccan flavors with contemporary flair. Stories from the hunt were shared between bites and laughter, setting a light and playful tone for the evening ahead.
As sunset approached, the group was transported deep into the Agafay Desert, to the breathtaking Scarabeo Camp—a dreamlike space of open skies, candlelit tents, and endless horizon. This would be the stage for the night we’d all remember.
Irenee S opened the evening with a warm, textured set infused with local sounds, grounding us in the landscape and the culture. As the night deepened, Oliver Koletzki and Frida Darko took over—building the energy and slowly, masterfully, sending us into space.
But then came the twist: a rare, unexpected desert rain began to fall. The air shifted. The sky cracked with lightning. And instead of running for cover, we danced harder, soaked in sound and mist, it was pure freedom. The storm only made the music more powerful, the moment more raw. Private shuttles returned everyone to their accommodations in Marrakech at the crack of dawn.
After the wildness of the night before, Sunday delivered calm, sunshine, and soft landings.
The group gathered for a relaxed courtyard brunch at Riad Sakkan, surrounded by sunlight, greenery, and the soft chatter of birds. The energy was gentle, reflective, and grateful.
Guests sipped mint tea, shared stories from the weekend, and soaked in the final hours of this incredible journey. It was the perfect, grounding close to an emotional and elevated experience.
It felt less like a birthday and more like a moment touched by an alien hand—unrepeatable, otherworldly, and etched into memory forever.
