A Moroccan–Swiss Wedding in Marrakech
A Three-Day Moroccan Swiss Celebration
When love travels across cultures, it creates something beautifully layered. Jasmin and her Swiss groom Jannik chose Marrakech as the setting for a wedding that celebrated both heritage and modern elegance—an unforgettable three-day destination experience where Moroccan traditions met Swiss refinement.
Born and raised in Switzerland with family roots in Casablanca, Jasmin envisioned a celebration that would honour her Moroccan heritage while remaining effortlessly chic and contemporary. Marrakech, with its golden light, soulful atmosphere, and timeless architecture, offered the perfect backdrop for this cultural dialogue.
Guided throughout the planning process by the Planner, the couple’s vision unfolded with precision and creativity. Combining thoughtful organisation, artistic direction, and deep local expertise, every moment was designed with intention. From the earliest concepts to the final celebration, each detail came together seamlessly, allowing the couple and their guests to simply enjoy the experience and immerse themselves in the magic of Marrakech.
Three Days of Celebration in Marrakech
Eighty guests travelled from Switzerland to take part in a carefully curated three-day celebration. Each event revealed a different facet of Morocco while maintaining a refined international aesthetic.
Welcome Night: A Rooftop Evening Above the Medina
The festivities began with a magical welcome evening high above the medina. As the sun slowly set over the city’s terracotta rooftops, guests gathered for an intimate evening beneath the stars.
Traditional Moroccan mint tea welcomed guests upon arrival, while delicate Moroccan touches set the tone for the celebrations to come. An Andalusian trio filled the air with soft, enchanting melodies, instantly transporting guests into the rhythm and romance of Marrakech. The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and filled with anticipation for the days ahead.
Wedding Day: An Intimate Private Hotel Celebration
The wedding day itself was a beautiful balance between tradition and modernity.
Hosted within an intimate private hotel, the celebration blended contemporary elegance with meaningful Moroccan customs. A Swiss DJ, flown in especially for the occasion, brought an energetic and modern atmosphere to the evening, ensuring the dance floor remained vibrant throughout the night.
At the same time, Moroccan traditions were honoured with grace and authenticity. Henna rituals, the ceremonial Ammariya entrance, and the presence of a professional Negafa added depth and cultural significance to the celebration, paying tribute to Jasmin’s heritage. Carefully designed décor, refined lighting, and elegant production created a sophisticated setting that felt both intimate and elevated.
A Personal Moment on the Dance Floor
One of the most unforgettable moments of the evening came when the bride herself stepped behind the DJ booth.
Jasmin surprised her guests with her own DJ set, bringing her passion for music, vibrant energy, and unmistakable style to the celebration. The dance floor instantly transformed into an electric, joy-filled scene that perfectly reflected her personality and the spirit of the evening.
Adding another personal detail to the festivities, guests were also had EL TONY, a signature drink specially brought from Switzerland for the occasion—a playful and meaningful nod to the couple’s shared story that kept the celebration flowing well into the night.
Farewell Brunch: A Relaxed Closing Celebration
The weekend concluded with a relaxed farewell brunch held at the same private venue.
After two days of celebration, guests gathered one final time to share stories, laughter, and memories from the wedding festivities. The atmosphere was laid-back and joyful, offering a beautiful moment to reflect on the experience before everyone returned home.
A Perfect Balance of Moroccan Heritage and Swiss Elegance
Every aspect of this wedding reflected a thoughtful dialogue between cultures. From Andalusian music and ancestral rituals to contemporary styling, lighting, and music, the celebration felt both deeply rooted and refreshingly modern.
The rustic yet authentic venue Casa Abracadabra added warmth and intimacy, allowing guests to feel fully immersed in the spirit of Marrakech while sharing in the couple’s unique story.
